Short Talk and Guided Visit of Cities Without Ground: A Hong Kong Guidebook Display, with co-authors Adam Frampton, Jonathan Solomon and Clara Wong, at the M+ Museum Exhibition Hong Kong: Here and Beyond

We navigate much of Hong Kong’s urban areas through interconnected pedestrian footbridges. Adam Frampton (Design Critic at Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD)), Jonathan Solomon and Clara Wong (GSD alumna '09) have been commissioned by M+ Museum to create a model which strips away the buildings and the ground to show us the network of walkways from the Shun Tak Centre in Sheung Wan to Admiralty. It draws on research published in their book Cities without Ground: A Hong Kong Guidebook (2012), which maps the city’s bridges and walkways. Dissolving the boundaries between private commercial-residential developments, public spaces, and informal gathering spaces, these walkways are spaces of transit and circulation as well as spaces for social and cultural activities throughout the city. 

Join us for a brief talk on March 15, 2023 (Weds) at 12:30pm at M+ Museum inside the G/F Exhibition Hong Kong: Here and Beyond. The talk would last for around 30 minutes, followed by Q&A. Bag check is available upon entry. Entry is free of charge.
