Memtorship
The Harvard Prize Book Mentorship Program was set up in 2016 to facilitate closer connections between Prize Book Scholarship and Essay Award Winners and Finalists, and Harvard alumni in Hong Kong. Since then, we have connected over 110 mentees with 80 mentors from the Harvard Community to cultivate future citizen-leaders.
The goal of the Mentorship Program is to inspire students to reach for something bigger than themselves, while also providing a safe, comfortable, and helpful environment to talk about academic, professional or personal aspirations.
Mentors and mentees are paired based on their interests. They are expected to meet a few times a year, with cadence, format and topics to be set by the mentor and mentee according to what works best for them. The personal connection is supported by in-person gatherings for the full cohort, which expand connection and enable greater opportunities for inspiration.
The program is a great chance for students to seek guidance on future academic or career paths, and focus on personal growth. For mentors, it is a highly rewarding experience to provide support to students and see them grow and develop.
